new logo art!

So here's two things, A fully rendered, painted 3D logo design and a group of varying styles for one word. Until Defeat is a reference from warhammer 40k where it's placed into a badge that looks very much like a space marine insignia or emblem. I could post a step by step process of this design later if anyone's interested. Second, is a row of design styles for the word Cosmic. It was a fun exploration of varying aesthetics that I wanted to try and I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with. I've done some band logo work in the past, which got my a bit more interested in seeing if I could step it up to a new level.

New logo design and portrait study

Here I have a logo design of a certain name of a greek letter which has certain relations to digital technology and mathematics these days. Figured I'd make another fun logo with a cybernetic design style. Next is a portrait study of dirty battle worn knight that I photographed at the Phoenix renaissance fair the past spring this year, it a was a challenge to accurately capture the little details in his expression. I should probably simplify my approach to painting chain-mail arnor...:P

Some new mock logo designs I've made...

Here's a few new logo designs I've made, in the form of what would be metal band logos or possibly a game title. Just working on typography and shape design process with each of these. I also wanted to add some more graphic design work to my portfolio so I'm starting with these and hopefully more will come soon.

I think it is best to make sure that there are two versions for a logo where one is rendered and the other is flat-color for printing processes. The flat color version should make it easier for the band and print service they hire to apply these to various physical media such as shirts, patches, flyers, etc. Rendered versions of the logos would find their place in more promotional media and album covers.

round 2, environment studies...

Here is a next round of environment studies, an arctic pool and a misty oceanside rock-scape. I feel pretty good about these and certainly explored more in texture and color of these differing landscapes. More to come, trying to step it up each time.

itchin' to do more environments

Here's a start on some explorations into environment art, because recently I've been having an itch to do some serious studies and personal art on various climates. It wasn't my strongest areas and slowly I feel like I'm managing some improvement. I'll try to post more of these regularly soon. The first one is an area of the Apache Trail within Tonto National Forest and the second image is based on a photo of a jungle scene, painting foliage that looks good is a pain, but I feel like i've learned more about painting such things.

Some new sketches, might paint them.

Here's some new sketches, thinking about painting Road Warrior Chase sketch and maybe one of the knights. I've been exploring the idea of blending different cultural styles in these two knights. I think it's off to a good start and there will be more to come soon!

The Ritual Interrupt

Here's a new piece I've finished. Though this one has been sitting around for a while, but past week I decided to get back to this one with fresh eyes and finish it up finally. An Epic Fantasy piece that features adventurers attacking a warlock who's attempting to harvest someone's soul. The band of heroes heard about people going missing and took it upon themselves to investigate, leading up to this moment. Enjoy!
